Advertising opportunities to UCL alumni via UCL Bentham Connect
To advertise employment opportunities via UCL Bentham Connect's job section we ask that you abide by the advertising policies and codes of practise from The Careers Group (TCG).

It is the duty of the recruiter/employer to meet all statutory legal requirements and in particular you are reminded of the following:

  • The vacancy must comply with all relevant UK Employment legislation including:
Right to Work legislation and the Equality Act (2010), so all adverts and selection criteria are not unlawfully discriminatory on the basis of disability, ethnic origin, gender etc. and with good practice in respect of non-discrimination on the grounds of age
  • The vacancy must comply with the host country's relevant labour legislation if the vacancy is based outside the UK
  • All job or work experience opportunities within the UK must be fully compliant with the National Minimum Wage Act (1998) and the National Living Wage. We require all employers advertising job or work experience opportunities of any kind to pay National Minimum Wage or National Living Wage unless covered by one of the exemptions allowed by the National Minimum Wage Act – details of exemptions can be found at https://www.gov.uk/national-minimum-wage/who-gets-the-minimum-wage
  • The vacancy must comply with working time directive legislation including holiday entitlement
  • Payment of National Insurance contributions, tax, or where appropriate, submission of Declaration of Income forms [P38(s)] to the Inland Revenue and adherence to health and safety regulations and provision of adequate insurance
  • Adherence to The Children's Act
  • The employer shall satisfy themselves as to the suitability of any employee and shall be responsible for taking up any references provided by the employee before engaging them.
