Current Opportunities

This page is updated regularly and existing volunteers will be contacted about relevant opportunities when they become available.

If you would like to advertise voluntary roles to fellow alumni you need to be registered and logged in on the networking area of AOC. You can then advertise opportunities through the 'Jobs' section - please ensure you read the terms and conditions before posting.

International education exhibitions - alumni advisors wanted

UCL's Student Recruitment and Marketing team attend many education exhibitions around the globe every year. We are looking for enthusiastic, recent alumni who are interested in talking to prospective students and their parents about what it is like to study at UCL and live in London. If you are passionate about UCL and are keen to assist prospective students in their application and decision-making processes, please get in touch with us by email and let us know which city and country you'll be able to volunteer.

Alumni Mentor
Alumni Mentors provide informal guidance about certain jobs, sectors and professions based on their own experiences in that career field. Many also look over CVs and offer interview advice.

Signing up to become an Alumni Mentor enables you to share your professional experiences, personal insights and employability advice with mentees, giving them a greater understanding of career journeys, professional opportunities and employer expectations.

Clicking on the ‘become an alumni mentor’ link below will take you through to the networking area of AOC where you need to register and complete the ‘willing to help’ section. If you are already a member simply update your profile to include how you’d like to mentor.

As with all volunteering opportunities, you’ll receive your volunteer toolkit within a few weeks of signing up (post mid-July 2016) – and will also be able to access the online resources once receiving email confirmation.

Complete the online survey and your answers will be securely stored and shared with departments across UCL, for use online and in print. Don’t worry, you’ll always be contacted before they are used.

Student club and society support
We’re working with several clubs and societies who are keen to engage alumni, whether you were a member whilst studying at UCL or now have an interest in their activities.

Engagement is based on what you are comfortable with but generally involves one or more of the following:

  • Being on their mailing list to receive updates and event invitations
  • Coming back as a workshop lead or speaker for relevant society events
  • Offering tours etc. of your place of work which are relevant to club and society activity

Clicking on the ‘Sign up as a club and society contact’ link below opens an email to the alumni team – please let us know who you’d like to help and how, we’ll then put you in touch directly.
